TO: All Maine attorneys

FROM: The Maine Supreme Judicial Court

DATE: August 7, 2019

Maine attorneys are reminded that the closing date for the 2019 Katahdin Counsel recognition program is fast approaching (Aug. 31st). Attorneys who have provided 50 or more hours of pro bono legal services to Maine’s neediest citizens between the dates of July 1, 2018 and June 30, 2019 are encouraged to report their hours in accordance with the guidelines provided in the website noted below.

The Katahdin Counsel pro bono reported hours are vitally important to civil legal service providers and others who seek grant funding or other initiatives where the generous contributions of time and effort by Maine attorneys demonstrate the legal profession’s commitment to justice for all.

Attorneys who wish to participate but decline public recognition for their contributions may opt out of the ceremony and publication.
