Last Tuesday Maine’s champions for civil legal aid celebrated the contributions of Bill Harwood, the 2017 honoree at the annual Muskie Access to Justice Dinner. Bill has in the course of a 38-year legal practice represented hundreds of low-income Mainers pro bono, helped put in place key recommendations of Senator Muskie’s Commission on Legal Needs, and raised untold dollars and spent untold hours as a board member of many groups.
We are proud to celebrate Bill’s strong leadership and his unwavering commitment to increasing access to justice for low-income Mainers. Bill joins two other Maine Justice Foundation board members who have been Muskie Dinner honorees—Justice Howard Dana (2015) and Harold Pachios (2014).
